Recent Project Highlight
Transforming global Employee Training programme roll-outs at NKD Learning for DHL Group
The Challenge
Emerging from the pandemic, DHL Group faced a significant backlog of classroom training for its global workforce. With over 600,000 employees across 220 countries, the urgency to reengage and reconnect more than 100,000 employees with the CIS Academy learning modules was critical. The goal was to deliver in-class training events lasting from 2 to 8 days in a timely, cost-effective, and transparent manner.
The Insight
DHL recognised that an energized workforce is essential for maintaining its commitment to customer experience. The need to roll out a global certified curriculum aimed at fostering cultural evolution and employee engagement was paramount. However, effective training delivery required robust coordination and oversight.
The Solution
To address these challenges, we developed a transparent, automated database using Smartsheet to track, communicate, and manage all stages of the training program rollout. This single-source tool ensured that all key stakeholders
remained informed and connected throughout each phase and project milestone.
Key Components of the Solution:
Streamlined Communication: The database facilitated real-time updates for all stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and transparency.
Efficient Resource Management: We resourced and trained 60+ learning professionals, enabling them to deliver a minimum of 275 training programs annually across the globe.
Results
The CIS program was successfully rolled out across DHL Express, Freight and eCommerce, engaging an estimated 20,000 employees within 18 months.
The program delivery schedule strengthened DHL's strategy to create a highly engaged and customer-centric global network, ensuring consistency in quality and service delivery across diverse regions and languages (available in 42 languages).
This comprehensive approach not only addressed the immediate training backlog but also established a foundation for ongoing employee development, driving cultural evolution and enhancing customer experience.
